I know what you mean about the specific audience. I've totally read porn for countless pairings (in countless fandoms) that I didn't really know much (or anything!) about. But to want to read about a friendship does require a certain level of investment not just in one character but with both (or even more than two characters). Ah well, I suppose I'll just continue wandering around fandom reading porn (and, okay, other stuff too) and hoping for more gen & friendship fic!

That's not such a terrible idea - could be very fun (and awesomely adorable!). Who says your desires have to be pure anyway...
