sadly, no team is forever and we all lose players we love. but they are never forgotten in our hearts! you may not be Barça players anymore, but I still adore you and wish you all the best.

Bojan, sweetheart. I know you had to go, but it broke my heart. he's off to Roma now, in the very good care of former Barça B coach Luis Enrique, and hopefully he'll do fantastically well there and come home in a few years. in the meantime, peruse these pictures of his jailbait-y loveliness and try not to miss him too much.

I honestly have no idea what Zlatan Ibrahimovic was doing at Barcelona in the first place; he's an egotistical primadonna bitch and he doesn't seem all that suited to the (relatively) low-key attitude of the Barça squad. Barcelona sold him in the summer of 2010 after one year in the squad and after a really nasty media bust-up with Pep, breaking my heart a little in the process. Zlatan was the player who led me to Barcelona in the first place. (true story, I started watching Barça because he played there.) he won the Italian league with his new team, AC Milan, so he's doing okay, and I wish him all the best with his quest to (a) continue collecting league trophies like Pokemon (b) someday actually play well in the Champions League and (c) win Alessandro Nesta's heart.

obviously Zlatan has his flaws, but I adore him. he thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread, and he's up-front about it. he's gotten into feuds with the Swedish media, with his national teammates, with most of A.C. Milan back when he was at Inter, basically if there's an argument to be had he's started it. he's also stupid in love with his wife (who is tiny and really smart and has better things to do with her life than follow him around like a puppy) and has an amazing grin and the most perfect body I've ever seen. it makes me go ♥_♥. also, he is a god to the people of Sweden. seriously. have a music video in which a small Swedish child declares his eternal love for Zlatan. (I think that's what he's saying, anyway. I don't speak Swedish.) I LOVE YOU ICH LIEBE DICH ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC! dear small Swedish child: I know exactly how you feel.

I'm not going to do a full-on picspam for this because I don't know all the details, but Maxwell, who is pretty damn good-looking in his own right, has managed to stick with Zlatan through three different clubs, which is sort of like football lightning striking in the same place three times. especially if you consider how fucking obnoxious Zlatan is. (I love him, okay, I can say it. he's a dick.) if you watch this interview with Zlatan (it's in five parts, all of which you should watch, because it's awesome), you'll notice Maxwell popping up a few times. Maxwell is still with us at Barça (god knows how, he's way too pretty for us), but alas, the bromance is now limited to occasionally mentioning each other in interviews. maybe someday they'll be reunited, but not too soon, because I love Maxwell and I want him to stay!

apparently they are best friends, and room together at away games, because Maxwell is the only person who can put up with Zlatan. they're adorable.
