hmmm. I mean, it is difficult for me to articulate myself on this topic, so maybe I should stop talking XD I don't think any one person is to blame for any of this! that's not how societal misogyny works! but the lack of a space for talking about women that you're describing--I mean, that is exactly what I've been talking about, you know? we don't have a space to talk about women in this fandom, so we don't talk about women, or read about women, or provide a welcoming community for anyone who comes along after us who would like to talk about women. I think that's shitty, and I think it's a reflection of a misogynist society, but I don't think it's anybody's fault. the status quo is discriminatory, and that's just the way it is. I would like a space to talk about women, because right now it feels like I'm just yelling into the abyss, and if I can get other people on board I'd be happy to make one (my feeling about fandom in general is that one person on her own can't do much, but two dedicated and eloquent and enthusiastic fans? look out world). I'm just not really sure where would be a good place for it. thus, brainstorming with all y'all!
