I really do believe that doing things like that - posts that just let people learn slowly about either female players or females in the players' lives - will eventually lead to more discussion of ladies. I mean, things take time. From personal experience, I know that I came into the fandom I had a limited knowledge and only cared about the people I knew about. Once I learned about other players, I was more willing to read fics about them. So, I do believe that slowly but surely, it should happen. The problem is that (and it's slightly hypocritical of me), whenever big events - like the upcoming Euro - happen, we get an influx of new fans, ones that are like me and have to learn everything from scratch.
