Summary: In which Michelle Obama is inducted into the Council of Kick-Ass Women of America.
And baby's first Yuletide treat! This story was such fun to write. Just coming up with the cast of characters... an exercise in rapid wikipedia'ing on Christmas Eve!

Summary: "Oh," said Iskierka, who had been pretending not to listen, "it is very stupid; it is only that humans are not supposed to mate if they are not giving each other eggs, and of course Granby cannot give Tharkay one."
This was supposed to be a treat, only I didn't get it finished in time, and then I had to sit on it until archive opened again after reveals and I still remember the agony of impatience. Probably still my favorite-ever Yuletide fic? I met so many awesome Temeraire fellow-fans through it!

Summary: Rafa spends the evening before Christmas Eve with his sister and his girlfriend, thinks about his future and calls Roger to talk things through.
Oh, I have really vivid memories of staying up late on Christmas Eve to write this fic. And also of messagingt_lyrical in a panic to ask if it was too "bitter" to count as "bittersweet", haha. I think it turned out okay in the end!

This was cheating, cheating, cheating: I'd been working on this fic as a treat fort_lyrical since the last Yuletide season. I remember writing the seasickness scene in a linguistics lecture, actually, what a weird thing to remember. But I did have to scramble to get the last scenes written in time so it totally still counts as a Yuletide treat-writing experience!

Summary: All the semi-incestuous tensions of the Omicron Lambda Upsilon sorority come to a head at the winter formal, their biggest social event of the year: wherein sorority sisters Venus and Min(erv)a backstab, catfight, and occasionally unite against a common foe, and also there is hatesex. Every fandom needs at least one college AU! (All knowledge of American sororities is exclusively based on watching a handful of episodes of Greek. No engineering students were harmed in the making of this story. My sincere apologies to any women's lacrosse players.)
GREEK MYTHS SORORITY AU came first. Then the title. (Haha, do you remember me texting you about this as soon as assignments came out,aramley?) Then the actual fic.

Summary: When old age shall this generation waste, Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe / Than ours, a friend to man, to whom thou say'st, 'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all / Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.' Plato's Symposium has a few holes in it.
I was alone at Christmas in 2010 and had a lot of free time on my hands, which partially explains why I decided to rehash a paper I'd written in college as a fic. and also an A Softer World remix. XD in retrospect, while I like the fic, I probably should have gone home for the holidays. I spent a lot of time wallowing in bed eating chocolate and feeling sorry for myself.

Summary: Rescuing that baby from the burning house was only the beginning of Laurence's troubles. And, of course, Tharkay's.
Protip: it is really hard to get back into a fandom that you've been out of for a while just to write a fic for Yuletide! I reread all the books and freaked out excessively and finally ended up using a silly plot bunny I'd batted around withnovembersmith in comments as a jumping-off point. This is also the first year I'd gone to a Yuletide writers meetup, and I owe the ladies there a huge debt for reassuring me that I wouldn't be pilloried for unexpected babyfic!
