um... it's really short. That's because I didn't feel like writing it. However, it is an update-ish-thing. Soooooo... is it just me, or is Lecherous definitely the most likeable thing I've ever written. No angst, no sap, no nothing. ~sigh~ Without my favorite poisons, I am nothing.

Celeborn hastened down the corridor that Melpomaen had claimed as his domain, ignoring all save the door at the end of the hall—Glorfindel’s door. He hoped—prayed—that there was nothing wrong but an old man’s edgy nerves, but the sinking feeling in his stomach gave him no pause for thought.
Throwing open the door, he stopped short at the sight before him. Glorfindel and Melpomaen both stood still as statues, frozen into a pose surreally reminiscent of a handfasting, the healer holding his patient’s hands in a death grip that left his knuckles white. As Celeborn stepped closer, he noted that neither blinked, staring straight into each other’s eyes and seeing nothing.
Taking a deep breath, Celeborn seized Melpomaen by the arm and yanked him forcibly away from Glorfindel. As soon as he released the blond’s hands, the healer blinked and came back into himself. He collapsed to his knees, gasping for breath. "Dear Elbereth," he wheezed when he could speak.
"What did you do?" Celeborn demanded urgently, for Glorfindel was still frozen.
In response, Melpomaen held up a hand for silence, climbing slowly to his feet. "One moment," he requested politely, and stepped up to Glorfindel once more. Gently cupping the warrior’s face between his palms, he stared intently into his patient’s blank blue eyes.
Just when Celeborn was beginning to worry again, Melpomaen removed his hands and flicked Glorfindel’s ear, and moved away. Glorfindel yelped in startled pain, then again in surprise as saw his two visitors. "What—Melpomaen?"
"You remembered!" exclaimed Melpomaen in delight.
"Remembered what?" Glorfindel asked, bewildered. "Is that your name? I apologize; it was simply what came into my mind when I saw your face."
The healer frowned. "That’s very peculiar," he mumbled, circling the blond with a hawkishly analytical eye. Glorfindel shifted uncomfortably under his unwavering gaze. "Perhaps..." He brushed his fingertips lightly over Glorfindel’s forehead, a tiny concentration line appearing between his eyebrows. "Glorfindel, what is the last thing you remember?"
Glorfindel blinked, and thought back. "I was... sleeping? And before that..." A puzzled expression crossed his face. "I don’t know."
"The nightmares must cause the memory loss," Melpomaen mused to himself. "Curious, if I say so myself, but still... Glorfindel, do you ever remember your dreams?"
"No. Never."
"Do you ever have moments when you start to remember something, but it slips away before you can think what it is?"
"I... doesn’t everyone?"
"Hmm."
"Melpomaen," Celeborn interposed gently.
"Mmm?" The healer’s head snapped up abruptly, a few moments later, as he processed Celeborn’s interruption. "Yes?"
"Perhaps you should let Glorfindel go back to sleep?"
He blinked. "Oh, yes, I apologize. I was thinking of something else. I shall see you in the morning, Glorfindel. Of course you probably won’t remember, but..." He smiled absently as Celeborn dragged him out of the room. "Good night."

That's all, folks!

Oh dear...

You shouldn't write it if you don't want to - don't force it! It's good, so far, but if you're only writing for the sake of writing, then that can't be good. That's my advice, and I'll shut up now. :)

I love Lecherous (both versions, heh), but I think the Erestor/Fin fics (sappy, I know) are wonderful too. The Maeglin ones! Remember the Maeglin ones! And Wet Silk. 'Tis marvellous. You converted me from hating certain Lorien Elvses to... not thinking they're quite so bad ;P

Don't do yourself down. You have a lot of talent.

*MAUL!*
