I drift so much faster now... it seems crazy to me now that I was seriously into Prince of Tennis for, like, three years. I guess if I'm into anything right now it's Torchwood, but I haven't found the crazy-good, LONG fics that are around for SPN (and, for that matter, SGA), so I don't know how long I'll stay once I finish out the season. (NO SPOILING. I'm still on 2.02 Sleeper.)
I think I've figured out what bugs me about the Who'niverse, though! it's a great place to play for humor and craziness and OMFG YOU DID NOT JUST USE THAT SCIFI CLICHE, but serious acting? um, not so much. (though that might mostly be Torchwood. Christopher Eccleston was pretty impressive as a serious actor, and so far Tennant's good too.) I adore TW snark, but End of Days? WHY CAN YOU PEOPLE NOT ACT. hi, Gwen, your boyfriend just died and you are having a temper tantrum? please to be shutting up now. Jack's voice just bothers me - he ALWAYS SOUNDS SO GODDAMN SMUG. even Ianto! the whole dramatic thing in the ep where Tosh can read minds and she hears him wallowing in his angst - what the hell was that? why is everyone so melodramatic? what happened to SUCKING UP YOUR MANLY PAIN. goddammit.
