since I've been reading Jossverse, that's what these are. Plus, I already did LotR recs over the summer.

I would first like to say that since my main ship is Wes/anyone, this is VERY DIFFICULT...

anyway, favorites:
Small Fry and Son of Small Fry, by James Walkswithwind and Mad Poetess. They involve a small amount of Wes/Gunn, but not much, and it's hysterically funny. Go. Read. It's about a magic artifact that turns everyone who touches it into a four-year-old. Spike the four-year-old vampire, running around in a Powerpuff Girls t-shirt. Giles. As a four-year-old. Need I say more? (Spike/Xander/(Anya), Willow/Tara, and later Wes/Gunn

By James Walkswithwind and Wolfling, the Sands of Time series. It's long. And complicated. And good. Basically, Xander is getting abused by his father, so Giles ends up adopting him, and along the way he (Xander) starts sleeping with Spike, but it's way better that I can make it sound. Just read it. Mainly Spike/Xander, with a tiny bit of Angel/Doyle WAY at the end.

Act of Nature, by WesleysGirl. Giles/Xander, post-end of Buffy, angsty, somewhat soppy but otherwise well-written. If nothing else, the shagging is good...

Chocolatey Goodness, by Mad Poetess. This is Spike/Xander. that's really all I have to say about it, because it is absolutely typical Spike/Xander, atypically well-written.

Similarly, Beer, Questionable (same author). Again with the typical Spike/Xanderness. I think I like this one better. Maybe. All the Spike/Xander starts to melt in my mind. Although the intros are quite funny, as I recall.

Of Old Mystics, by Wolfling and Magpie. Ethan/Giles, and all that goes along with that. It's got an awful lot of plot, which can be good or bad depending, involving Ethan and Giles up against major Chaos badness. Romantic storyline's pretty typical Ethan/Giles. Only so many ways you can write that ship, I guess...

Take This Longing, by WesleysGirl. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Basic premise: Angel & Co. get drugged and go psychotic, ripping each other (literally) to pieces. Wes is the only one still breathing when Angel comes to, and Angel turns him in order to save him. Hence, Evil!Wesley. Who spends the rest of fic pointing out to Angel the various ways in which he is preferable to Ensouled!Wes. Because he's eeeeeevil. And well-written, too.

Unwanted Gifts, again by WesleysGirl. Essentially, after Connor dumps Angel into the ocean, Cordy the shimmery apparition gives Wes her visions. Craziness ensues. I just like the hurt/comfort aspect, and I'm not terribly enamored of the sequels, but whatever. (Angel/Wes, in case you couldn't tell.)

Finally,

reality_bends. Wes/Spike, post Buffy Season 7. Spike gets a body, Wes realizes someone's been screwing with his memory, and in compensation starts screwing with Spike. They both angst like teenage girls, and they do nothing but have sex and talk about feelings, but it's *really good* sex. Yeah. A plot is developing currently, but I'm just reading for the sex, really...
