I just... don't have much to say. idk, I keep meaning to write things and call people and do stuff, and instead I lie around in bed rereading guede_mazaka's epic football fics and occasionally watching tennis or football. (Spain beat Poland 6-0 yesterday! it was awesome. at least, the parts I managed to watch without dying of boredom. I like it when they score, but jeez, I have no idea how anyone can watch 90 straight minutes of some guys kicking a ball around.) Rafa won the French Open! that was nice. I couldn't bring myself to watch any of it until match point because I was so scared, but it was a pretty non-heart-attack-inducing match, so well-done there Rafa. Wimbledon and World Cup start really soon, so I need to decide if I'm going to be watching stuff at home in my pajamas, or if I want to venture into the outside world and find some tolerant friends and a sports bar.

anyway, that's all that's been going on with me. how are you?

ngl, I don't want to squee-harsh for anyone but I'm soooort of dreading the start of the World Cup because I can't really stand football and it's going to be wall-to-wall in the media here for the next however long the WC lasts D:

Wimbledon, now, that I am excited for! Rafa on grass again! And the end of Wimbledon will be my two-year tennis fandomversary, haha.

<3<3<3 I suspect World Cup is different for you because people actually give a shit in England. here nobody really cares all that much about soccer so it's just a fun thing that I can do to keep busy until my job starts. =) leaving aside the part where I'll be a little devastated when Spain have their inevitable meltdown and lose early, lol.

there should be cakes for fandomversaries! mine was so depressing this year because it's right after the Australian Open, but hopefully Wimbledon will be a happier time.

That's pretty much it, yeah. I'll be vaguely supporting the team with the prettiest boys, which to the best of my understanding is Spain, and that'll be the extent of my involvement with the WC, haha. Ooh, job! Interesting job?

lololol, would you like a Spanish starter kit? my tumblr is full of beautiful Spanish strikers! generally speaking I'd rather spork my eyes out than actually watch football but the lure of attractive men getting all affectionate with each other is irresistible. XD

idk if my job will be interesting, but it will get me out of the house at least? I'm moving to Washington DC for two months to do... something, nobody has told me what exactly, at one of Harvard's libraries. I've never really been to DC before so it's hopefully going to be fun. =)

The hours don't really work for sports bars for Wimby, tho? Mmm, if you could find a breakfast bar with strawberries and cream, it'd be heavenly. My dad and I always watched it with strawberry cream pancakes. The best way to enjoy the dry British crowd!

haha, actually the reason I even thought of going to a bar is because there's this place near where I used to live that was showing soccer the last time I went there for brunch. (french toast nom nom nom!) idk if they'll play tennis, though... >_>
