the thing I liked best about the kinkmeme was how you could just start talking with someone about a prompt and five hours later you have this insane comment thread full of epic genius on all sides. unfortunately it sounds like that sort of conversation is no longer welcome, which sucks since the kinkmeme was a convenient, centralized location where it was relatively easy to find conversation partners about almost any topic or pairing. but it's not the end of the world.

I was, when this shift in meme protocol was announced, in the midst of planning a sort of comment flashmob to brainstorm on kinkmeme prompts. can't do it at the kinkmeme anymore, but that's no reason not to have the party! so everyone is officially invited to come hang out at touchline this weekend (trying to decide between Friday and Saturday night EST, does one work better than the other for anybody?) and talk about all the footie fic we want to write or encourage! come as yourself or come anon or come as a shiny brand-new alias acquired just for the occasion, whatever you're most comfortable doing, just come! bring your favorite prompts! (I will trawl through the kinkmeme and copy/paste the ones I think have the most potential, and I promise to be as unbiased as I can, but I don't know much about BuLi or Serie A or Ligue 1 etc so your help would be greatly appreciated. they don't have to be kinkmeme prompts, either, though if they're already up on touchline I wouldn't bother posting again.) YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WRITE ANYTHING. we're just brainstorming and having a laugh, and if fic comes out of it, great, but if not, we still had an awesome party and the comment threads are forever.

you don't have to let me know if you're planning on attending but it would be nice so I can plan a bit about the prompts, and if the scheduling will affect whether or not you can make it, tell me and I'll do my best to make sure it works out for everyone. invite your friends!

many thanks to distira and luxover for agreeing to host the party at touchline. their house rules are simple so obey them: don't be a jerk. that's all, really! I'll have an official start time for you once I have a better idea of what works for most people.

yay! you're not the only person who'd be on Euro time, so I may just have things start up without me on Friday (or Saturday) night GMT and join in when I can - that was always the best way to overlap with people back home when I was in England, anyway. would that work for you?

I really should go back through the touchline prompts though, I think I last looked at them when I was just tentatively probing football fandom and the idea of most pairings still horrified me to my very core. Would probably now read every one :P

The high school au :x myself and heartequals spent a very pleasant half hour making up storylines for it. Someone filled it really delightfully but they didn't include the Evra/Park so I'm maaaaaybe planning to go and do that myself.

er, neither works really well for me. :/ night EST would be somewhere around 2 or 3 AM probably, and this weekend I'll actually probably be out. Could it go on for a longer time so that any other European-located people can participate?
