I think it's interesting the way that, of all his teammates at City, he seems most drawn to Adam, Joe et al all of whom enjoy a good time
I know! I think to start with he was probably sort of intrigued by them...like, who are these strange boys who goof around and randomly break into song and treat football, aka their jobs, their lives as something other than deathly serious. And then somewhere along the way he realised that actually, that's a pretty fun way to go about living your life, even if he can't quite shake the feeling that football is the most important thing ever.
In my head, they sulk in different ways...Silva sulks at himself, gets angry at himself. And Adam sulks at other people, blames other people (mainly Roberto Mancini and Stewart Downing and yes, on occasion, Silva) for his many and various woes. And maybe that has to do with his age and lack of experience and the fact that for quite a few years now he's been hearing about how he's the next big thing and he's a star and a prodigy and he's just getting a bit impatient waiting for all these predictions to come to pass.
It's weird...I sort of think the person who's most like Silva at City (other than Mancini, obvs) is maybe Milner. Except Milner's smile is a little less ready and he seems to be completely and utterly impervious to the cold. But he's another one, I think, who just cannot actually comprehend anything but a ruthless, cutthroat, life or death attitude to football.
