I was talking with flickings about doing mini-primers for canonical ladyballer pairings and it seems like a semi-legit use of my internet stalking skills (I use "legit" in a broad variety of meanings, including "not actually legitimate at all") but picking up on who is actually dating in the current media environment tends to be the job of people who are already stalking a team, so -- tell me which ladies are actually lesbian couples and I will investigate them! Current list:

-Kelly Smith and Alex Scott (already done, aww yeah)
-Lianne Sanderson and Joanna Lohman
-Laura Del Rio and Nikki Baker
-Fara Williams and Amy Kane

I know Abby Wambach is dating a lady and Megan Rapinoe and Sarah Walsh are together, obviously, but I kind of feel like everybody knows that already and they don't need a primer? But feel free to correct me, idk. And also feel free to tell me this is all a terrible idea! I have sort of weird squishy moral compunctions about using my internet stalking skills for evil, and while I tend to think that promoting attention for ladies' football is a win for the side of light, I can also see the argument for not speculating about the sexuality of people who are not officially out to the world at large. Anyway. These are my thoughts! Tell me yours!

abby and sarah huffman are the cutest worst kept secret i have ever seen. i mean, i tend to ship abby with approximately everyone and their mother, but i just want them to have babies and not awful dogchildren, you know?

also, in terms of pretty solid 'rumors', amy lepeilbet and liz bogus are also a thing (double dates!), and if i had a dollar for every time i heard ali krieger and ashlyn harris i wouldn't have to worry about student loans (ashlyn likes to wear ali's jersey to matches and tumblr likes to remind me that they hang out a lot).

clearly i have uswnt tunnel vision.

To keep Krieger’s spirits up, Ashlyn Harris, a member of the U.S. National Team pool and a close friend of Krieger’s, arrived in town Wednesday and will be here to help Krieger get around until Jan. 31. Harris, a goalie, went through two knee surgeries herself and has offered plenty of encouragement.

THEY'RE AWFUL. ffc frankfurt and fcr duisburg played recently and it was super mismatched and cringeworthy to watch (i mean, i don't know what more ashlyn could have done other than clone herself and play the entire defense), but then soccer wives hugged and and fandom made chinhands and actually wrote fic. it was fantastic, sigh.

What about Canada? Christine Sinclair and Tiffeny Milbrett are so together that I can't remember if they are actually out. Same with Rhi Wilkinson and Diana Matheson. Tancredi and McLeod aren't out or as domestic as the other couples, but they are a thing that is happening. /canadianlovestory

They seem like one of those timeless couples. It's like the sky is blue and Millie and Sinc are a couple. On the seventh day, God said "Go play footie or something!" and saw that it was good, and he rested because lol US-Canada, have fun explaining that one.

oh! chiming back in with, while i don't know much about the german ladies, apparently linda bresonik was involved with inga grings, until inga started dating male coach holger fach. then grings and fach broke up, grings and bresonik got back together, only to break up AGAIN when bresonik started dating fach. can't make this up.
