Everyone loves a good Regency Romance, right? I'm so pleased that
mardia suggested I do a set of Regency AUs. The subsequent Twitter debate over which hockey players to cast in retellings of my favorite Heyer novels (Cotillion: Sid is Kitty, Geno is Freddy, Nealsy is Dolph and Paulie is Hannah; Friday's Child: Hallsy is Hero, Ebs is Sherry; The Masqueraders: AGally is Prudence, BGally is Robin and Prusty is Sir Anthony) is delightful and still ongoing. Ironically, however, I have elected not to put any hockey fic in this set, because we need to branch out a little. XD
A Matter of Inconvenience, by

A Civil Contract is the WORST HEYER; do not read it. WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU, LYNTON. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU. HOW DARE YOU?!?! Ughhhh Jenny deserved so much better. That said, for some reason fandom loves rewriting A Civil Contract? And the rewrites are generally much more delightful than the original. This is number one! Thoroughly entertaining, as one might expect of
astolat.
Cursed at First, But Mended, by Lake [The Eagle, Esca/Marcus]
Marriage of convenience is such a great trope. And Marcus remains the woobie of my heart forever and ever amen, God bless.
Forever Can Never Be Long Enough, Or The Earl Of Epsom Takes A Husband, by torakowalski [The Social Network RPF, Jesse Eisenberg/Andrew Garfield]
And A Civil Contract rewrite number two! It's been a while since I read this but I remember really enjoying it, especially the characterization of Jesse's little sister.
Regency AU, by Leyna [Stargate: Atlantis, Rodney McKay/John Shepard]
A thoroughly creative name, I know. But I clicked on the title while I was poking through the Alternate Universe - Regency tag, and I fell in love. What a beautiful painting! I don't think I've really recced art before, but this one is great.
The Courtship of Mr. Bond, by marlowe_tops [Skyfall, Bond/Q]
On the one hand, wildly out of character (errs on the side of woobification). On the other, DELIGHTFUL.
