right-oh. here be my list of the better slash out there in the LotR-verse. This (obviously) only contains what I've read, so if anyone wants to recommend something not on the list, feel free to leave me a comment!

My probably all-time favorite author (who doesn't write much, grr...) is Tehta. She has a lovely Glorfindel/Ecthelion fic called Flawed and Fair which I cannot recomment highly enough, and she's just started a sequel. She also has some hilarious gen and het ficlets, and a few dark ficlings.

Another all-time favorite author is Ezra's Persian Kitty(

e_p_kitty), who thankfully writes a bit more than Tehta. I'll give fair warning that she writes a lot of sex, so if that's not quite your thing, just scroll down when things start getting interesting. The story-lines are worth the effort.
Unfortuantely, she doesn't have a particular web-page, so you'll have to scroll down the E-directory until you find her. Shouldn't be too hard.

Moving along, here's a story of epic length of which I'm rather fond: On the Shores of Valinor, by Maybe. It's about the rebirth of Gil-galad in Valinor and the consequences, especially to his relationship with Elrond. I can't really summarize it properly, so go read it.

Now, Rundancer. Excellent author. Rather fond of sex and kink, so go in wary; however, they're all EXCELLENT stories. Must of her work is part of one big arc, which is cute, funny, dramatic, kinky, and unspeakably romantic by turns. (When I say kink I do mean BDSM; most of it isn't graphic but it is there, but you have to read it anyway because the couples are SO cute.) The first story's kind of weird, but it warms up from there.

Hoo boy, Master Erestor. This is so AU it's scary. but it's so well written that you still have to read it. Also, her work is hilarious. And adorable. And just generally wonderful. (Plus, she's just as queasy around sex as I am, so her work is totally vanilla!) I won't summarize it because if I'd seen a summary before I started reading I never would have read her work, and that would be a tragedy.

Moving right along, Magic Rat. She writes in the same Alternate Universe as Master Erestor (she invented it, actually...) and while her work isn't quite as humorous, it's still pretty funny and just wonderfully written. (She is NOT vanilla, btw. Just a warning.)

Here's an excellent fic with an odd pairing and an odder set-up. In the Eye of the Beholder is Elrond/Legolas, but don't run off yet. It's really good. wednesday m-c tends to do weird pairings (her other series is Legolas/Gandalf) but she's a great author.

While we're on an Elrond/Legolas kick, I'm going to recommend the Folly of Starlight series, by AC. It's a little slow at times, and I still haven't read the bits about Gil-galad, but altogether it's a nice story. (There's a Glorfindel/Elrohir backstory that I like more than the main story, but that's just me.)

I'm not going to recommend Helmboy's Elrond/Legolas series, because I find it mildly disturbing and squicky (chan-slash is NOT my thing) but now you know it exists, so you can read if you want. I will recommend - highly - the Hair of the Dog, a morning-after fic where everyone wants to know who Elrond was sleeping with. Plus the flirting between Erestor and Glorfindel makes me very happy.

Also, in a more serious vein, Helmboy's Crusade. It's a what-if-Sauron-won story, complete with separated groups of survivors, we're-all-going-to-die-so-let's-have-sex mentalities, and a Gil-galad rebirth backstory that has Elrond dealing with his true love and his wife in the same room. I love Elrond/Gil-galad, ok?

Now that I've remembered that this exists, I'm going to go re-read it.

I don't like this one *quite* as much as the others, but that's because it's not my favorite pairing, not because of the writing or story. The Greenleaf and Imladris series is freakin' long, but then, so are most of the stories I've rec'ed so far. Author is Eresse, pairing is Legolas/Elrohir, mildly angsty and very cute.

The most excellent Heart and Body series by Implacida. Heart & Body starts off with an extremely graphic rape/torture scene, but it's a wonderful, wonderful story. Mainly Haldir/Celeborn, and a Rumil/Figwit side-story. It's one of the few stories I've seen that deals with rape and its after-effects credibly. It's also one of my favorite, favorite, favorite stories.
